Basking Ridge Police Find Gun, Illegal Ammunition During Stop
Bernards Township Police also report making an arrest for cocaine possession, according to the police blotter.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township Police report finding a gun and illegal ammunition during a traffic stop.
On July 16 at 1:20 a.m., Jeremy Zachary Morales, 22, of Pottsville, Pennsylvania was stopped by Officer Mulhall for an equipment violation.
While speaking with Morales, the officer observed an empty handgun magazine. Further investigation revealed a 9mm handgun, armor piercing ammunition, and a high-capacity magazine, police report.

Morales did not have the proper permits to possess these items in this state. He was charged with second-degree weapons possession along with the illegal ammunition and magazine.

On July 14 at 12 p.m.: William Knapp, 24, of Sayreville was stopped for an equipment violation by Officer England. Drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view which led to the eventual discovery of the cocaine. Knapp was was arrested for possession of cocaine. He also had several outstanding warrants and was lodged in the Somerset County Jail on the third-degree drug charge.
