Basking Ridge Woman Walking In Crosswalk Hit By Car, Hospitalized In Critical Condition
The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office is investigating after a 42-year-old woman was hit by a car on Halloween night.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A Basking Ridge woman is hospitalized in critical condition after being hit by a car while crossing in a crosswalk on Halloween night, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
On Oct. 31 at around 8:27 p.m., Bernards Township Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Allen Road at the intersection of Vanderveer Drive.
An investigation determined that a 61-year-old Bedminster Township man was driving a 2025 Toyota RAV4 westbound on Allen Road, approaching the intersection of Vanderveer Drive, said McDonald.

The 42-year-old woman, who was using a marked crosswalk and crossing Allen Road in a northbound direction, was hit by the Toyota, said McDonald.
The victim was crossing left to right from the perspective of the driver, according to police.

Police and emergency medical personnel treated the victim before she was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
