$1.5M For Road Improvements, Vehicle Purchases Approved In Bernards Township
The Bernards Township Committee approved the appropriation of $1.5 million at its Jan. 24 meeting.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township approved the expenditure of $1.5 million for road improvements and new vehicles at its Jan. 24 meeting.
Mayor Andrew McNally noted that this appropriation is an "annual thing" they do as to not hold it until the budget cycle begins.
"It's not the entirety of the work to be done but a portion that will allow us to get started earlier than we otherwise would," said McNally.

The money will be broken down to cover two main aspects:
- $775,000 for engineering projects including resurfacing Cross Road and Alward Avenue, Town Hall drainage improvements, and Newell Drive storm sewer improvements.
- $725,000 for the purchase of motor vehicle replacements including DPW Equipment Vehicles, Passenger Vehicles and Trailers.
