Bernards Township School Board Election: See Who's Running In 2022
There are nine candidates vying for four open seats on the Bernards Township School Board in the November election.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Monday was the deadline for school board candidates to file for the upcoming general election in November. Nine candidates have announced their intention to run for the four open Bernards Township Board of Education seats.
There are three, three-year seats and one, one-year unexpired seat up for grabs. All are volunteer and unpaid and are contested.
There are two major groups running including Nimish Amin of Beacon Crest Drive, Csilla Csipak of Liberty Corner Road, Keith Molinari of Franklin Drive, and Larry Rascio of Liberty Corner Road — who are running under the banner of "For Bernards Children." Amin, Csipak, and Molinari are running for the 3-year seats, while Rascio is running for the unexpired seat.
The group is challenged by incumbents Guddia Singh of Deer Ridge Road and Suzanne Schafer of Dawn Drive, along with newcomers Erica Blackman of Heather Lane and Janice Corrado of Lone Oak Road. Singh, Blackman, and Corrado are running for the 3-year seats, while Schafer is running for the unexpired seat.
Deborah E. Penner Smith of Dicksinson Road is running on her own under the slogan "Special Education Teacher" for the unexpired seat.
The K- 12 Board of Education election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
