Bomb Threat At Ridge High School Prompts 'Hold In Place'

The threat was made Wednesday morning to the school off S Finley Avenue.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A bomb threat at Ridge High School prompted a "hold in place" on Wednesday morning.

The "hold in place" has since been lifted.

Bernards Township Police confirmed to Patch there was a non-credible threat from a robo-call to the high school.

"The safety, security, and overall well-being of our students is always our top priority," said Superintendent Nick Markarian. "Specifically, the phone call was a robocall (an automated call) making a bomb threat. Following our procedures, law enforcement was involved immediately and the school was placed in a hold while the police made an assessment of the threat."

The police determined that the call was not credible and the regular school day was resumed.

"We thank our local police department and the staff of Ridge High School for their swift response to make sure that our students and staff were safe," said Markarian.
