Brrrr, Songbird Packs Books For Taiwan in Chilly Weather
Songbird packs more than 100 boxes of books for Books For Taiwan!
Despite the cold weather outside, on February 17, Songbird members gathered together to pack books for Books For Taiwan. Starting from 11 in the morning, 5 members and 6 adults worked past 3 in the afternoon to separate all the books into piles: children books, teenager books, adult books and cookbooks. However, their long hours paid off as they packed more than 100 boxes of books!
Although it was an afternoon filled with hard work, all the members had a lot of fun volunteering together as they knew they were doing a kind act. It was worth it to know that these books would get shipped to Taiwan, where English learners could read these books for free. Each book was packed with love, as the volunteers knew that every single book was a treasurer to someone across the country.
Songbird would also like to thank the Verona School District for their generous donation of more than 50 boxes of books. Because of the school principals, Mandarin teachers, public library, and HBW and VHS Mandarin Club members’ collaboration, this event was made possible.

We plan on meeting up again in the future, as numerous other books awaits us! We hope to even increase our membership and get more volunteers involved in this kind act. We know that the more hands there are, the more readers we can help!
