
Learn techniques on how to identify constellations and locate planets and more in the night sky. Discover what internet resources are available to help the beginning astronomer.
Included will be a demonstration of using a star map to help you explore the sky, as well as how easy it is to view the International Space Station and satellites without the need for a telescope! This program is geared for adults, but suitable for children ages 12 and older.
Presenter: Paul Cirillo has been fascinated by astronomy and space missions all his life and enjoys sharing his knowledge with the public. He is a member of the New Jersey Astronomical Association, which operates the largest public observatory in New Jersey and was the leader of Somerset County’s 4-H Space & Astronomy Club for ten years. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University and is a volunteer outreach “Ambassador” for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This program is geared for adults, but suitable for children ages 12 and older.
