Registration is NOW OPEN for the 7th Annual Walk for Hawks Personal Migration Challenge!

Mark your calendars and set your goals: September 26 through October 4, 2026.

Every fall, The Raptor Trust’s medical team cares for some of the most severe injuries of the year—many resulting from the challenges birds face during migration. Proceeds from our Walk for Hawks directly support the treatment and rehabilitation of these wild birds, giving them a second chance to heal and fly free again.Register online at: https://secure.qgiv.com/.../walkf.../event/walkforhawks2026/($50 Adult, $40 Seniors 65+, $35 Youth 12 or under) All registrants will receive a Walk for Hawks t-shirt, a commemorative patch, and an educational case study! Don’t forget to select your t-shirt size when registering!

Set a personal mileage goal and track your progress.Attend our Kick-Off event on Saturday, September 26 from 12 to 2pm. Pick up your t-shirt, patch and case study, enjoy light refreshments with fellow bird enthusiasts, learn interesting facts about hawks from a member of our Education Team and join a hike led by TRT staff (optional).

If you are not able to attend, your items will be mailed to you. Walk, run, hike, or move in your own way - every journey matters!

Use apps like Strava, AllTrails, MapMyRun, Apple, or Fitbit to log your miles from September 26 to October 3, and submit your total on October 4, 2026. Top finishers will win a Winners’ Package. Everyone who registers is automatically entered into our Daily Giveaways!

This year, we're shining a spotlight on one of New Jersey's most familiar and beloved raptors; the Red-tailed Hawk! Our commemorative Walk for Hawks t-shirt and educational case study will feature this incredible bird, giving you the chance to learn more about its remarkable migration, behavior, and the challenges it faces in the wild. At TRT, we believe every bird deserves a safe migration—and that every journey matters. Whether you move one mile or one hundred, your participation makes a difference. Let’s put our feet to work so injured wings can fly again!
