Car Swerves Off Road, Down Embankment In Basking Ridge

One person was rescued as fire and emergency officials pulled the victim up using a rope and stoke system.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- A car flew off the roadway and down an embankment in Basking Ridge sending one person to the hospital.

The car went off Old Army Road causing emergency personnel to have to pull one person up the hill with ropes, according to Basking Ridge Assistant Fire Chief Jack McGrath posted online.

The victim was not pinned but disoriented, McGrath said.

The rescue effort crew was lead by Captain Ted Renz and low angle ops initiated by Ex-Chief Hayworth.

Basking Ridge EMS 22 ,22, Fire 59 were on site to assist and Station 40 provided coverage for the entire township during the operation.
