The Children's Corner Celebrates 30 Years
Non-profit learning center, The Children's Corner, is celebrating 30 years on November 5 at Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church.
On Sunday, November 5, The Children’s Corner school will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary during the 10:30 am service at Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church. The school will be recognized in worship followed by an anniversary luncheon in Douglas Hall at noon. Everyone is invited to the luncheon; no reservations required.
The Children’s Corner is a non-profit learning center serving infants through elementary school students with daycare, preschool and afterschool care. Nestled in historic Liberty Corner, The Children’s Corner is under the sponsorship of Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church, licensed by the State of New Jersey, and is a member of Christian Schools International.
The Children’s Corner, or TCC as it is affectionately known, opened its doors in the fall of 1987 with 45 students. The school consisted of two preschool classrooms and a small aftercare program. When the school bell rang at Liberty Corner Elementary School, then director, Nancy Campbell, would walk next door to greet and pick up the school-aged children for the aftercare program.

In eight years, TCC increased from 45 to 130 students and 18 staff members. With such growth, the school needed to expand into a new facility, and, for the first time, they offered Toddler I and II classes to support the growing number of working parents in the community. Additional personnel were needed to support the director, parents, children, and the teaching staff, so a bookkeeper and an assistant director were hired.
The school’s Christian curriculum is an important component of its mission. The Children’s Corner is dedicated to meeting the spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs of children in the community in a kind and loving Christian atmosphere. It strives to build each child’s self-esteem while fostering respect for peers and adults. TCC offers an age-appropriate academic curriculum, weekly Bible lessons, daily music class, outdoor learning garden, playground, indoor gym, science lab, enrichment opportunities, and more.
