The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonders of nature in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

planting herbs that will spice up any meal.

Field Trips for the Fun at Heart – Winter Walkin’ in the Pines
Sunday, March 25 from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Join a Naturalist for some easy walking and bird watching in the Pine
Barrens. Stops may include Whitesbog Village, the Franklin Park
Preserve, Lebanon State Forest.
Fee is $50 per adult and $40 per senior.

“The Great Swamp Experience,” on the lower level at the EEC, features interactive displays, vignettes, taxidermy, and archeological artifacts highlighting the history and ecology of the Great Swamp. The exhibit is open 7 days a week from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission Is free. Please note that dog walking is not permitted on the trails at the Environmental Education Center.
