
The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonders of nature in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

leisurely walk along the trails of Lord Stirling Park to enjoy the
natural beauty of spring in New Jersey.

Bird Walks
Saturday, October 27 from 7:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M.
Adults will join a Naturalist on a stroll around the grounds of the EEC
seeking out the many migrant birds that pass through the area.
The walk is free and registration is not required.

Spooky Spiders – NEW PROGRAM!
Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Family and friends of all ages will join a Naturalist to meet some very cool
spiders, some making beautiful webs, some using silk as a lasso,
and some the size of a dinner plate.
Fee is $6 per person.

“The Great Swamp Experience,” on the lower level at the EEC, features interactive displays, vignettes, taxidermy, and archeological artifacts highlighting the history and ecology of the Great Swamp. The exhibit is open 7 days a week from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission Is free.
Please note that dog walking is not permitted on the trails at the Environmental Education Center.
