
The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonders of nature as spring blossoms in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

Children ages 12 to 15 - Is natural science a subject you find interesting?

Do you like the outdoors? Is the Great Swamp a place you like to
visit? If so, join the Environmental Education Center Naturalists
and contribute your talents to fun and educational projects and
special events.

Coyote Kids
Registration begins Wednesday May 18
Children age 4 to 6 will enjoy a 4-day summer nature program that
includes hikes, live animals, hands-on activities, games, crafts,
and water play. The program will focus on a different habitat each
day. Schedule features “Habitats’ from July 11 to 14 and
“Animals” from August 1 to 4, 2016. Program runs from 9:00
A.M. to 12:00 Noon.
Fee is $100 per person per session.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS
Family Nature Walk – FREE PROGRAM
Saturday, May 21 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
Family and friends will enjoy a Naturalist-led interpretive walk
through the Great Swamp.
The program is free and pre-registration is not required.
New Jersey Snakes - FREE PROGRAM
Sunday, May 22 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Family and friends of all ages will enjoy a presentation on the 22 varieties
of snakes calling New Jersey home, learning to identify, dispel
myths, and what to do when a snake is encountered.
The presentation is free.
