Family Fun Day at Lord Stirling Stable

The Somerset County Park Commission Lord Stirling Stable and the Friends of Lord Stirling Stable will host the 33rd Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue in Basking Ridge, NJ,

Family Fun Day activities will take place from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. with pony rides and hayrides, games for children, and a special visit from Sparkee, the Somerset Patriots baseball team mascot. Admission and parking are free.

This unique community festival will begin with current Lord Stirling Stable students competing in games on horseback for fun and ribbons. Musical Stalls, Fit to Be Tied, Ride-A-Buck, and a number of new team events are on the day’s schedule.

The pony rides and tractor pulled hayrides will be available from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., weather permitting. Child-friendly arcade games will be open from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. “Meet the Breeds” and “Rebel’s Story Time” are among the new additions to Fun Day this year.

Food, beverages, and gift items will be offered for sale by the Friends of Lord Stirling Stable, in addition to gently used riding apparel. Local vendors and organizations will be on hand providing demonstrations and sharing information.
