Far Hills Country Day School to Host Spring Festival of the Arts
Far Hills will host its annual Spring Festival of the Arts on Wednesday, May 25 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. FREE and open to the public.
Far Hills Country Day School (Far Hills) will host its annual Spring Festival of the Arts on Wednesday, May 25 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on its campus located at 697 US-202, Far Hills, NJ. The event, which celebrates all forms of artistic expression including visual art, poetry, literature, music and theater. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will feature a PreK–Grade 8 student art show and hands-on activities in the art studios and courtyard, as well as a reading and book signing by author and alumnus, J.R. Thornton (’05).
Thornton is the author of Beautiful Country, which tells the story of Chase Robertson, a fourteen-year-old boy who arrives in Beijing troubled by the recent death of his older brother. After joining the Beijing national junior tennis team, he is exposed to the world of cutthroat Chinese athletics, where winning is more important than anything else.

“The Festival of the Arts is an excellent way to showcase all aspects of the Far Hills arts program, including music, theater and the written word. We are excited to celebrate these wonderful programs with our community,” said Director of the Far Hills Conservatory and music educator, Amy Burns.
The school’s Performing Arts Center will be transformed into a “Coffee House,” as both students and faculty perform musical and spoken word pieces. The Theater Department will also reprise highlights from the Upper School Musical, Footloose, and the Lower School Musical.
