BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township is planning a free, family-friendly Flag Day celebration at the historic Ross Farm on Saturday, June 13, as part of its America 250 initiative.

The event, titled From Revolution to Reflection: Flag Day at the Ross Farm, is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ross Farm in Basking Ridge.

According to the event description, the program is intended to mark the start of "a season of reflection, celebration, and connection."

The event is tied to Bernards Township’s America 250 initiative.

The program will welcome neighbors, local organizations and visitors to explore shared history and look ahead toward a "more perfect Union," according to the event.

Organizers describe the event as an open house where visitors can "spend an hour or stay for the day."

Planned activities include historic flag displays, tours of the home and gardens, a historic recipes contest, and live music throughout the afternoon.

Music is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. with Desmond Diehl, who is listed for a "relaxed, roots-inspired performance."

At 2:30 p.m., the finals of the historic recipe contest are set to take place.
