Help This Sweet, Happy Boy Find His 'Furever' Home

It's National Dog Month and Patch wants to help 1,000 homeless dogs find loving homes by the end of September.

MADISON, NJ — It's National Dog Month, and while many folks have four-legged pals to share their homes, Patch is kicking off an effort we hope you'll join: We want to help 1,000 dogs in New Jersey and Pennsylvania find their forever homes.

As part of that effort, we will be highlighting dogs that currently are waiting in shelters for someone to adopt them.

Buck is one of those dogs. He is at the Saint Hubert's Animal Welfare Center at 575 Woodland Ave. in Madison.

Buck is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd and weighs about 38 pounds. He is tri-colored and has been neutered, according to Saint Hubert's.

"My name is Buck. My journey began in Mississippi and I am hoping it will continue in a new home. Overall, I am a sweet, happy boy who shows affection once I warm up to a you. My ideal family will be able to bring me out of my comfort zone and strengthen my confidence. While I should not go home with kids, I would be happy to go home with a dog and even a cat," the shelter description says.
