Hillsborough: E-Waste Drop-Off Event To Occur Aug. 1
The Somerset County Electronic Waste Drop-off event will occur on Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

HILLSBOROUGH – The Somerset County Electronic Waste Drop-off event will occur on Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South County Public Works Garage, located at 410 Roycefield Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844.

“We encourage Somerset County residents to take advantage of the e-waste recycling events, to clear some space in their homes and keep chemicals and heavy metals out of the environment,” said Somerset County Freeholder Melonie Marano, recycling liaison. “E-waste recycling is vital for protecting our natural resources and the environment for future generations.”
Social distancing is required: Residents must wear facial coverings and gloves. Occupants should remain in their vehicles with the windows shut until otherwise directed. Residents will also be expected to remove and place items without assistance as instructed by the staff.

Proof of residency is required: Residents must have a current driver's license, valid lease, tax bill or any other bill that shows proof of a Somerset County address. Pre-registration is not required. No businesses or commercial vehicles are allowed.
Batteries are not accepted: Residents can recycle household hazardous waste including lithium and rechargeable batteries at scheduled Household Hazardous Waste drop-off events. Batteries such as AA, AAA, D, C and 9-volt can be disposed of in the regular trash.
