Get to know a little bit about Jersey Girl Brewing:

  • Tell us about Jersey Girl Brewing?

Jersey Girl Brewing Company was started in 2014 by myself (Charles Aaron) and Mike Bigger because we both have a great love for craft beer. It's our love of beer that opened our eyes to the rich beer culture developing in NJ. Jersey Girl Brewing Company brews beer on a 30-barrel brewing system. One barrel is equivalent to approximately 31 gallons of beer.

Jersey Girl Brewing is not what we are, but what we love. Our inspiration comes from the true essence of a Jersey Girl. A Jersey Girl is complex, deep, layered, bitter, sweet, subtle, and sophisticated.

We chose to build the brewery in our home town of Mount Olive New Jersey to brew the beers that we love and want to drink. This will become a place where we invite friends to sample and drink along with us.

  • What beer styles does Jersey Girl make (i.e., What sets Jersey Girl apart from other breweries)?

One of our recent launches King Gambrinus (Belgian Tripel) won the People's Choice award at 2016 Big Brew Beer Fall Festival.

We have 10 beers on tap right now showcasing the wide diversity of our tastes.

Our most recent beers are:

King Gambrinus - https://untappd.com/b/jersey-girl-brewing-king-gambrinus-belgian-tripel/1735167

ABV- 9.03% – Belgian Tripel

This hazy, golden Belgian-style ale is strong and bold. Rich imported malts and Belgian Yeast lead to an exciting complexity of flavor. Herbal and fruity notes dance around your palate, ending with a smooth, dry finish.

Rake Breaker - https://untappd.com/b/jersey-girl-brewing-rake-breaker-ipa/1767368

ABV- 6.17% - NE Style IPA

Tropical New England Style IPA with Mosiac and Amarillo. Hazy, fresh, and incredibly drinkable. A tornado of tropical hops will be sure to break your perception of traditional bitter IPAs.

Sun Kissed Citra - https://untappd.com/b/jersey-g...

7.8% ABV - NE-Style Double IPA

The big brother of Rake Breaker, this hazy, oated NE-style Double IPA is a silky citrus bomb. Hopped with loads of Citra and complimented with a soft piney touch of Centennial. A candy coated, sweet citrus nose, paired with citrus, orange, and tropical flavors together with a warming finish create a highly drinkable 7.8% beer!

  • Any influences on your brewing?

Mike was a home brewer for many years. Mike is a big fan of IPA's and Chuck is a fan of lagers.

  • Who's the team behind Jersey Girl?

We have a great team at Jersey Girl Brewing of people who all started as and still are great home brewers. Chris Pszonek has been with us since even before opening up and has been a great contributor to the growth of the business. Erik Nelson and Dustin Salitt work as servers at the bar but have been instrumental in developing recipes that we brew on our small pilot system. Our Tippy system can brew up to 27 gallons per batch. These are exclusive tap room only beers are available only while they last.

Charles Aaron and Mike Bigger are the co-owners of Jersey Girl Brewing

  • Why did you pick Hackettstown ?

We have a mailing address in Hacketstown but are actually located in Mount Olive. Mike and I are both residents of Mount Olive and wanted to start up the brewery in our own home town.

  • Where can we find Jersey Girl craft beers?

Jersey Girl Beers can be found both right here are the brewery and are featured on tap at over 80 locations in Northern New Jersey.

  • How did Jersey Girl get started?

We had been talking about opening a brewery for almost two years before taking action. It took almost another 2 years to get opened up.

  • What's the NJ brewery scene like?

It's just amazing right now. There are so many great beers coming out of NJ.

  • What's next for Jersey Girl?

We're only open for six months now and our beer is distributed in only six counties in NJ. Our next step is further expansion into the New Jersey Market.

  • Anything else we should know about Jersey Girl?

We offer sample room hours Thursday and Friday from 4-8pm Saturday 12-8pm, and Sunday 12-5pm.

At the event we will be featuring our Rake Breaker and Sun Kissed Citra IPA's.
