Summit, NJ -- Kent Place School senior Catie Gilhuley of Basking Ridge has been selected as a winner of the 2020 National Merit® Scholarship Program. The National Merit® Scholarship Program honors “individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.”

The program began in 2018, when approximately 1.5 million high school students took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). Miss Gilhuley was selected as one of only 2,500 winners of the National Merit® $2500 Scholarship.

Scholarship winners are chosen from the pool of finalists based on their academic record, extracurricular activities, leadership skills and other honors they have received. Miss Gilhuley is an active member of the Kent Place community. ###a>She is a member of the track team and she plays saxophone in the Orchestra and Meraki Chamber Ensemble. In the fall, she plans on attending Princeton University.
