Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) toured the new Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Basking Ridge this week. Lance, a member of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, toured the outpatient site and met with staff to discuss the state of cancer care in the United States. During the tour, Lance also saw some of the state-of-the-art equipment and learned about new practices. Lance has devoted much of this work on the Subcommittee to advancing the fight against cancer. Lance has been heavily involved in four cancer-fighting bills becoming law: the Breast Cancer Patient Education Act, the Recalcitrant Cancer Research Act, the FDA Safety Over Sequestration Act and the Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act.
