Letter To The Editor: Asay, McNally Will Keep Bernards Welcoming
"We trust Asay and McNally to keep Bernards township on a path of controlled growth."
Press release from Debbie & Alex Marcus:
Oct. 22, 2021
Over the years we have watched the town committee manage a variety of issues, including state mandates, business/residential growth and other community developments. We were and continue to be impressed with the creative and fiscally focused approach that past and current committee members take while maintaining and improving our town.

When we look at the current candidates for Township Committee, we are drawn to those with involvement and relevant experience. We see that Andrew McNally has a legal background and government exposure that can help our town navigate New Jersey policies. We also note that McNally is or has been on the town Planning Board, Library Trustee, Sewerage Authority, Environmental Committee and more. He certainly has knowledge and perspective to help run our town.
Separately we observed that Jennifer Asay has pharmaceutical insight through her employment and also has township involvement and experience from being on the local Board of Health and Planning Board. In the more general community she has helped many children have fun through the middle school ski club and supported the development of others through Girl Scouts and Girls on the Run volunteer roles.

The purpose of a Township Committee is to keep the services running smoothly and within the budget our taxes provide. The committee can also direct subcommittees to respond to resident requests that effect everyone, such as recently creating the Utilities Advisory Task force to reduce electrical outages, the Parks and Rec department’s addition of facilities and the maintenance of pedestrian bridges like the one we use often on Lafayette Lane.
We read about other candidates claiming they will “eliminate waste” in the budget, without providing a single example of where that could occur. We trust Asay and McNally to keep Bernards township on a path of controlled growth while continuing to provide guidance for administrative, legal and budgetary issues.
Sincerely,
Debbie & Alex Marcus
