Local ballet students perform excerpts of a classical ballet
Advanced students perform excerpts of La bayadere at their recital this Saturday June 18th.
The advanced ballet students at The Dance Connection are presenting excerpts from La Bayadère as part of their end of year show. The Ballet Company will be performing the same choreography as professional dancers one would see in a major ballet company at Lincoln Center. This event is being held on Saturday, June 18th, at 4 pm at the Hillsborough High School, 466 Raider Blvd.
Jacqueline Lorenzi is the teacher and ballet instructor at the Dance Connection in Somerset County. She has trained the advanced dancers for their roles in La Bayadère. Miss Jackie was the principle ballerina with New Jersey Ballet. She has several decades of experience as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and a ballet mistress. Miss Jackie also has worked with Capezio as a pointe shoe specialist.

The Dance Connection puts on many productions throughout the year. Some of the most noteworthy include The Nutcracker, the Circus Dance Festival, and the Midsummer's Night’s Dance.
La Bayadère follows the love triangle of a temple dancer, Nikiya and her two love interests. This ballet tells a story of mystery, fate, and love. The students will be performing excerpts from Act II of the ballet. In this act Solor, one of Nikiya’s love interests dreams of being reunited with Nikiya.

The Dance Connection is more than just a dance school. The Dance Connection takes their dancers on journeys to foster lifelong friendships as well as improve skills.
