Ridge Boy And Girl Swim Teams Victorious Over Hillsborough

The Ridge Boys and Girls Swim Teams are making a splash this season with their lastest victories over Hillsborough on Tuesday.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Ridge Boys and Girls Swim Teams are making a splash this season with their lastest victories over Hillsborough on Tuesday.

This is the second year in a row Ridge has defeated Hillsborough — and the Hillsborough Boys Team had been undefeated this season.

The Boys won 103-66 and the Girls won 102-68. Sophomore Emily Thompson got a new team record in the 200 individual medley, with a 2:00.83.

The Girls' victory was solidified by several first-place finishes from Emily Wang in the 200 free and 100 fly, Giulia Beverini in the 50 free and 100 back, and Emily Thompson in the 100 free, in addition to her record-breaking 200 individual medley.

The Girls also won two of the meet's three relay events: Emily Wang, Tracy Lu, Eszter Kiss and Emily Thompson won the 200 free relay, and Emily Wang, Eszter Kiss, Giulia Beverini and Emily Thompson won the 400 free relay.

The Boys also battled successfully, with key first place finishes by Mitch Ferraioli in the 200 individual medley and 100 fly, Garrett Gould in the 50 free and 100 free, Andy Moss in the 100 back, and Kevin Cao in the 100 breast.

The Boys also won two of three relay events: Garret Gould, Kevin Cao, Jerry Zheng and Andy Moss won the 200 medley relay, and Mitch Ferraioli, Andy Moss, Seif Elnawawi and Garrett Gould won the 400 free relay.

Both teams have two big meets coming up: the Cougar Invitational on Jan. 28, and Senior Night against neighbor and rival Bernards on Feb. 3.
