New Bernards Township Mayor To Be Chosen, Committee To Reorganize

The Mayor is selected each year by committee members through a vote. Here's how to join the meeting in person or virtually.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Bernards Township residents will see a new mayor sworn in on Tuesday night during the committee's reorganization meeting.

The Mayor is selected each year by committee members through a vote. Janice Fields is the current Mayor.

A Deputy Mayor will also be selected and the new mayor will make appointments to township committees.

Additionally during the meeting, Republicans Jennifer Asay and Andrew McNally will be sworn into office as committee members following their successful win in the 2021 election.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 1 Collyer Ln., Basking Ridge.

How To Join The Meeting

Residents can attend the meeting in person. While there is no state mask requirement, the CDC currently recommends all individuals wear masks at indoor gatherings.

The meeting will also be live streamed and can be found by clicking on the "Watch a Meeting Live" icon on the home page, bernards.org and can also be viewed live on Optimum/Cablevision TV - Channel 15 and Verizon FiOS TV - Channel 35.
