New Committeeman Selected To Fill Vacancy In Bernards Township
David Tancredi was unanimously appointed by the Township Committee following the resignation of Gary Baumann.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — David Tancredi was unanimously chosen to serve on the Bernards Township Committee and fill a vacancy following Gary Baumann's resignation.
Tancredi was sworn into office at the Jan. 28 Township Committee meeting. Baumann resigned, Jan. 1 for "personal business reasons." Read More: Committeeman Resigns, New Mayor Appointed In Bernards Township
"I've known David for a number of years. He runs a small business serving the local community and has dedicated countless volunteer hours to the Township notably on the Zoning Board of Adjustment. David has a wealth of knowledge that this Committee and the residents of Bernards will benefit."

Per New Jersey State Statute 40a:16-11, the Republican party submitted three nominees for the Township Committee to choose from to fill the vacancy from Baumann's vacancy. Those nominees included Tancredi, Daniel McCabe, and Kirsten Light.
Tancredi will fill the remainder of Baumann's term which is set to expire on Dec. 31. He has served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Adjustment and also owns Tancredi Plumbing & Heating Contractors.

"I just want to commend all of the candidates for coming forward. I think it's wonderful for people to raise their hand and say yes to being part of our civic engagement so thank you for that," said Committeewoman Ana Duarte McCarthy. "I also want to commend Mr. Tancredi in terms of your already having committed your time to the Township through the Zoning Board of Adjustment."
"I want to thank all of the seven Republicans who put their hands up to be considered and grateful for these folks to accept the opportunity for appointment tonight," said Committeewoman Jennifer Asay.
"David it's an honor for you to be up here. We've known each other a really long time. I’ve asked you to run for a really, really long time, many phone calls, and I’m so happy that you took the phone call and accepted to run," said Mayor Janice Fields. "I am so excited and happy to have you here. You are an honorable man and you will serve this community well."
