Pleasant Valley Park Summer Swim Team Defeats Chester
Two young swimmers, Lauren Kardos (age 7) and Logan Araujo (age 6) took part in their very first swim meet.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Pleasant Valley Park swim team took on Chester on July 13 and won the meet 316 to 122.
Two young swimmers, Lauren Kardos (age 7) and Logan Araujo (age 6) took part in their very first swim meet. Lauren swam in the 8 Under Girls 25m Freestyle and 25m Backstroke events. Logan swam in the 8 Under Boys 25m Freestyle and anchored the 10 Under Boys 100m Medley Relay event. Congratulations to Lauren and Logan.
Alongside first swims, there were best times. The following swimmers set personal best times at the meet:

- Samuel Brown (7) set three best times, first in the 8 Under Boys 25m Backstroke with a time of 46.19, dropping over 6 seconds. He also set best times in the 8 Under Boys 25m Freestyle with a time of 34.70 and in the 8 Under Boys 25m Breaststroke in 44.26.
- Chloe Buwen (8) swam a best time of 25.44 in the 8 Under Girls 25m Freestyle event.
- Chris Barnicle (9) set three new best times at the meet. Chris swam a best time of 19.86 in the 9-10 Boys 25m Freestyle, a time of 24.77 in the 9-10 Boys 25m Breaststroke and a time of 27.02 in the 9-10 Boys 25m Butterfly.
- Nick Baldassare (9) set a new best time in the 9-10 Boys 25m Backstroke with a time of 36.46.
- Ella Samadani Lee (9) set best times in the 9-10 Girls 25m Freestyle with a time of 23.56 and in the 9-10 Girls 25m Backstroke with a time of 25.48.
- Oscar Chamberlain (14) swam a personal best in the 13-14 Boys 50m Freestyle with a time of 38.67.
- Jacob Bartlett (15) swam a best time of 48.91 in the 15-19 Men 50m Breaststroke event.
PVP has one meet remaining this season. On Wednesday, July 20 the team travels to Lake Hiawatha.
