Pumpkin Carving Contest Extended For Basking Ridge Residents
Pumpkins will be judged on creativity, level of difficulty, and execution with trophies and pumpkin treats to be awarded.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Entries for the Bernards Township pumpkin carving contest has been extended to Tuesday, Oct. 25.
The contest will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and residents. It is free enter for ages 8 to adult.
Carved pumpkins should be brought to Dunham Park between 4 and 5 p.m.

Age Categories:
- 8-12 years old;
- 13-17 years old;
- 18+ years old
Trophies and Pumpkin treats will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category. There will also be a fan favorite. Pumpkins will be judged on creativity, level of difficulty, and execution.

Residents can register online or at the Parks & Recreation Department located at the Municipal Building, 1 Collyer Lane, Basking Ridge.
Contest Rules/Reminders:
- Entries must be registered for the contest by Oct. 19 by 4 p.m.
- 1 pumpkin per participant.
- Pumpkin design must be suitable for children and families.
- No props can be used (other than small accessories as part of the design).
- Pumpkin size cannot exceed 18 inches tall by 18 inches wide.
- Patterns can be used.
- Bernards Township Recreation will provide lights for pumpkins (please bring top of pumpkin).
- Pumpkins must be picked up between 7 and 7:30 p.m. after the event is over.
