Registration Open for Basking Ridge Girls Recreation 'New' Softball Program

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The 2017 Basking Ridge Girls Recreation “New” Softball program is open for registration through Ridge Youth Sports, Inc. (RYSI).

Recreation Teams “NEW”:

• “New” Recreation Teams (breakouts based on grade attending):
• Minors - Grades 1 & 2, Majors - Grades 3, 4 & 5, and Seniors - Grades 6,7, and 8
• Games to be played against other Ridge teams & other towns next door (TBD)
• Cost – Minors - $135; Majors & Seniors - $175 for Spring only, if registered by February 15; late fees apply after that date
• Mandatory Evaluations on February 25th at Ridge High School for team placement only
• Every player is guaranteed a roster spot
• 10 - 13 game schedule plus playoffs
• 1 practice per week once games start
• Season – April 1 – June 18th; Games start in third week of April
• Deadline to register – February 22nd

Travel Softball Program:

• Mandatory evaluations are on February 25th at Ridge High School
• Must play & register for recreation softball to be eligible for Travel softball
• Season – April 2nd – May 21st; Practices start 2nd week of March; Games start 1st weekend of April; Sunday only games (note: occasional Saturday night games)
• Players are not guaranteed a roster spot
• Additional cost - $50 (selected players will receive a separate registration after player selection)
