Ridge Boys State Sectional Tournament Quarter And Semi Final Results
This concludes the season for Ridge Boys.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge Boys swim team had a convincing win over Union City in the quarter finals of the State Sectional Tournament last week by a score of 106-64, but lost in the semi finals to a strong Bridgewater line-up.
In the quarter final meet on Feb. 7, notable wins included Garrett Gould in both the 50 and 100, Jack Thompson in the 100 fly, Orion Wang in the 200 IM, Mitch Ferraioli in the 500 free and Kevin Cao in the 100 back and Gabe Beverini in the 200 free. The meet MVP was Ridge Captain Garrett Gould.
In the semi final meet on Feb. 9, Ridge boys lost to Bridgewater by a score of 71-99. The quartet of Youssef Elnawawi, Anson Chen, Wang and Beverini won the 400 free relay by a wide margin, but a strong Bridgewater squad took multiple wins in the individual events.

Strong performances from Ridge included Ferraioli and Chen placing second and third in the 200 free, with Beverini and Wang taking second and third in the 200 IM.
Similarly, Ferraioli and Thompson placed second and third in the 100 fly and Elnawawi and Cao took second and third in the 100 free.

Chen finished second in an incredibly tight race in the 400 free. Further second places were secured by Thompson in the 100 back and Cao in the 50 free. The meet MVP was Orion Wang.
This concludes the season for Ridge Boys. Ridge Girls beat Watchung in the State Sectionals Semifinals on Monday and face Bridgewater in the State Sectionals Final on Thursday.
