Ridge High School's Cheer Wins State Competition For 5th Straight Year

The New Jersey Cheer and Dance Coaches Association hosted the two-day state competition at Brookdale Community College on Feb. 25 and 26.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — For the fifth year in a row, Ridge High School’s Competition Cheerleading team (Ridge Black) has brought home the gold.

The New Jersey Cheer and Dance Coaches Association (NJCDCA) hosted the two-day state competition at Brookdale Community College on Feb. 25 and 26. Ridge won the medium varsity championship title and, additionally, won the overall Group 4 championship for 2023.

Ridge High School also has a second varsity team (Ridge Green) that placed second in the non-tumble division.

This event wraps up another amazing season for Ridge Cheer and was the final competition for 11 incredible senior athletes who have helped build and strengthen the Ridge Cheer program.

Best of luck to seniors Sarah Babcock, Macy Clark, Maddie Fedor, Emily Harmon, Nicole Hedden, Chloe Hill, Abby Nacion, Ella Richter, Sophia Venturi, Reese Wylie, and Skyla Young.
