Ridge Cross Country Season Off To A Great Start
The Ridge boys and girls' cross-country teams ran their first meet of the season on Friday taking home 2 trophies and several medals.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Ridge boys and girls’ cross-country teams ran their first meet of the season on Friday at the Battle at Ocean County Park, taking home two trophies and several medals.
The senior boys won a trophy for placing second overall with Dmitry Cole, Dev Patel, and Matthew Fukushima scoring and winning individual medals.
The senior girls placed third overall with Katharine Frank, Elayna Douglas, and Addie Daniel scoring to capture their trophy. Katharine and Elayna also won individual medals.

Brenden McMahon won the junior race with an impressive personal best of 15:27, earning him 2nd place at the meet overall. Dmitry Cole placed 6th in the senior race with a personal best of 15:56. Dev Patel placed 8th, running 16:04 to beat his previous personal record by 90 seconds.
Katherine Frank placed 5th in the senior race with a personal best of 19:28 and Sophomore Rachel Biondo placed in the top 10 in her class with a time of 19:51, a 30-second personal record.

Other medal winners include Max Neumann, Kaleb Huang, Matt Foster, and Justin Breivogel.
Freshmen Jeanne Leduc and Kenji Hou, both medaled in the 2-mile race, placing 16 th and 24 th respectively. The cross-country season is off to a great start for the Red Devils.
