The Ridge girls varsity volleyball team is ranked fourth in the state and
looks to win their way back to the state championships again this year.
This ranking is the highest ever for the girls program which is only in its
eighth year of existence. The team is deep with talent with five returning
senior starters (Stephanie Occhiogrosso, Kelsey Tam, Tori Lai, Sydney Dazzo,
and Rachel Creedon) and a strong underclassmen base.

They began their summer preseason workouts by participating in a leadership training course with the Marine Corps. The varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen teams
learned about the Marine Corps’ 14 leadership traits and how to apply them
to the game of volleyball. The teams then hit the field to run through a
timed course to test their athletic skills and endurance.
The varsity season begins on Friday, September 5th against Wayne Valley at 5:30pm in the
main gym of Ridge High School. They will face their toughest opponent,
North Hunterdon, on Thursday, September 18th at home.
