Ridge Swim Excels At 'Meet Of Champions'
Ridge Swim Team competed at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions at GCIT in Sewell this past weekend.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge Swim Team excelled at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions at GCIT in Sewell this past weekend.
Junior Emily Thompson won the 100 Fly and 200 IM to become State Champion in both events, for the second year in a row.
Senior Emily Wang placed third in the 200 IM. Junior Garrett Gould placed second in the 100 Free and third in the 50 Free, setting new team records in both.

In the relays, the team of Thompson, Wang, Eszter Kiss and Giulia Beverini won the girls’ 400 Free relay to become State Champions and placed third in the Medley relay, setting new team records in both. This is the first time a Ridge relay team has won the State Championship.
The 200 Free relay team of Wang, Sammie Oei, Victoria Doucette and Maggie Luo took 20th place.

The team of Gould, Kevin Cao, Mitch Ferraioli and Gabe Beverini took 5th place in both the boys’ Medley relay and 400 Free relays, setting new team records in both.
In the 200 Free relay the quartet of Dean Capizzi, Cao, Beverini and Anurag Bhat took 29th place.
In the girls’ individual events, Kiss earned 14th place in the 100 Free and Giulia Beverini earned 14th place in the 100 Back.
On the boys’ side Ferraioli narrowly missed the finals by taking 17th place in the 200 Free and 100 Fly. Kevin Cao also placed 17th in the 100 Breast with Gabe Beverini placing 29th in the same event.
