Ridge Swim Performs Well At Skylands Conference Championship
Ridge Swim turned in many personal-best and season-best performances at the Skylands Conference Championships at Montgomery High School.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge swim team turned in many personal best and season best performances at the Skylands Conference Championships at Montgomery High School in Skillman on Saturday.
The Girls team placed second overall and the Boys team placed fourth.
Among the highlights for Ridge were Emily Thompson securing two individual Conference victories, in the 50 free and 500 free events, setting new team records in both and Eszter Kiss taking victory in the 200 IM, taking the Conference title in that event.

On the Boys side, key performances include Gabe Beverini placing third in both the 200 IM and the 100 breast, setting a new team record in the 100 breast, alongside further third place finishes for Nathan Luo in the 100 free and Orion Wang in the 500 free.
In the Girls meet, Ridge performed strongly in the relay events.

The quartet of Emily Thompson, Eszter Kiss, Kinga Kiss and Maggie Luo placed third in the 200 medley relay and the team took second place in the 200 free relay with the team of Thompson, Eszter Kiss, Sammie Oei and Natalie Hillebrecht.
In the 400 free relay, the final event of the meet, Kinga Kiss, Oei, Hillebrecht and Beth Higgins took fifth place.
In the individual events, Ridge Girls had many top 12 finishes.
Kinga Kiss took eighth place in the 200 free and 100 fly events. Oei placed sixth in the 500 free and tenth in the 200 free. Caitlyn Ferraioli placed eleventh in the 200 IM event and Amelia Ellis took tenth place in the 100 free. Hillebrecht took second place in the 500 free.
In the 100 back, Ellis took tenth place with Charlie Geary in eleventh and in the 100 breast Eszter Kiss came third with Niamh O’Sullivan taking eleventh place.
Ridge Boys also turned in strong performances in the relays.
Ian D’Silva, Dean Capizzi, Wang and Youssef Elnawawi finished sixth in the medley relay.
The team of Beverini, Cao, Jack Thompson and Mitch Ferraioli placed third in the 200 free relay and second in the 400 free relay.
Ridge Boys also had many top 12 finishes in the individual events.
Ferraioli finished fifth in the 100 fly and sixth in the 200 free. Jack Thompson placed fourth in the 100 back and ninth in the 100 fly.
Kevin Cao placed eighth in the 50 free and tenth in the 100 back. Nathan Luo finished tenth in the 200 free and Elnawawi placed ninth in the 100 free.
Ridge Boys and Girls teams will meet Pingry away on Monday, Jan. 22 and Bernardsville (Senior Night) on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
