Ridge Swim Team Kicks Off Season With Win Against Phillipsburg
Both the girls and boys teams had a strong start to their swim season.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge Swim Team kicked off the season with a win for both boys and girls teams against Phillipsburg. The final scores were 137-33 for the girls team and 105-65 for the boys.
This was a dominant performance by Ridge girls, who won all three relays and every individual event.
The 200 Medley relay was won by Emily Wang, Niamh O’Sullivan, Victoria Doucette and Amelia Ellis in 2:01.70.

The foursome of Kinga Kiss, Amelia Ellis, Sammie Oei and Guillia Beverini won the 200 Free relay in 1:49.98.
Ridge were victorious again in the 400 Free relay as Niamh O’Sullivan, Sammie Oei, Victoria Doucette and Emily Wang took first place in 4:14.36.

Ridge girls backed up the relay wins by taking first place in every individual event. Team captain Emily Wang took first place in both the 200 Free and the 100 Back. Victories were also secured by Giulia Beverini in the 200 IM and the 100 Fly, Maggie Luo in the 50 Free, Sammie Oei in the 100 Free, Kinga Kiss in the 500 Free and Arissa Xiang in the 100 Breast.
Ridge boys got their season off to a strong start too, with a win in the 400 Free relay for Jack Thompson, Raul Sommerhalder, Eric Shen and Youssef Elnawawi in a time of 3:46.07.
Anson Chen, Dean Capizzi, Mitch Ferraioli, and Gabe Beverini finished second in the 200 Medley relay and Dean Capizzi, Gabe Beverini, Logan Flores and Darshan Hariharan secured another second place in the 200 Free relay, both against strong competition from Phillipsburg.
Ridge Boys won four individual events at the meet, with victories for Ian D’Silva in the 100 Free, Orion Wang in the 500 Free, Kevin Cao in the 100 Back and Mitch Ferraioli in the 100 Breast.
Meet MVP’s were Kinga Kiss and Tim Moschello.
Kinga swam a best time in the 200 Free and achieved two second place finishes. Tim set a personal best anchoring the 100 Free relay.
Ridge has a busy week. There was a girls-only meet against Mount St Mary on Tuesday and an upcoming meet for boys and girls on Thursday 15 against Hunterdon Central.
