RAAD, Ridges youth leadership group, came up with this program after they determined that the two of the biggest problems affecting young people in Bernards Township are mental health stigma and vaping, according to Bernards Township Municipal Alliance Against Substance Abuse.
"It is so important for parents to attend so they can be educated about teens and nicotine products," says Audrey West, a junior in RAAD and the Student Representative on the Municipal Alliance. "By participating in our event, parents can learn about the signs of use and what to look for in their home, so they can sooner help their children. This also includes elementary and middle school parents because it’s never too early to learn about upcoming drug trends."
