Ridge Youth Softball Crushers Ends Season With Championship Win

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Basking Ridge Recreational Majors Softball (Grades 4-5) finishes with an exciting end to a Championship season.

The RYSI Crushers Softball team ended their season with a win in the Championship game against a tough opponent (and friendly rival) the RYSI Bombers.

In a testament to the progress and growth of the Basking Ridge Youth Softball Program, the Crushers (12-2-1) and Bombers (9-4-2), ended their seasons as the 1 and 2 seeds respectively, and both marched through the playoffs winning several games by double digits before meeting for a final showdown in the championship game.

The lead changed hands several times, finally being decided by a walkoff home run in the bottom of the 6th inning giving the Crushers the go ahead run for the win.

The Crushers and Bombers ended the regular season 9-2-1 and 7-3-2 respectively, thanks to a combination of veteran and brand new players alike contributing both in the field and at the plate.

The girls were able to secure wins against teams from Long Hill, Warren, and Somerset Hills before meeting each other in the league championship.
