See How Bernards Voted In NJ Governor, Committee, School Races

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — It was an extremely close race for New Jersey Governor with Phil Murphy ultimately leading Jack Ciattarelli in the race for a second term, according to unofficial results. Mail-In and Provisional Ballots will be certified by Nov. 18.

Overall Basking Ridge favored Ciattarelli with 5,169 total votes over Murphy with 4,454 votes.

All but two districts out of the 24 total in BernardsTownship favored Ciattarelli. Districts 21 and 22voted in favor of Murphy.

Bernards Township also had two local heated races for Committee and School Board. In the committee race, there were four candidates vying for the two, three-year seats.

Republicans Jennifer Asay and incumbent Andrew McNally are leading ahead of Democrats Sophia Chadda and Jessica Simpson-Cook.

McNally had 5,359 votes and Asay had 5,351 votes over Chadda who had 4,095 and Simpson-Cook with 3,903 votes.

In the school board race, there were five candidates vying for the three, three-year seats and two other candidates vying for one unexpired seat. Incumbents Timothy Salmon, Robin McKeon and newcomer Kirsten Light are leading ahead of incumbent Herpreet Singh and Carl Bird for the three-year seat.

McKeon had 4,944 votes, Salmon had 3,499 votes, and Light had 3,502 votes over Bird with 1,696 and Singh with 2,455.

Ruchika Hira is ahead with 3,728 of Lawrence Nastro with 3,177 for the unexpired seat.
