State Champs Ridge High Ice Hockey Team Honored By Bernards Township

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Bernards Township Committee honored the Ridge High Ice Hockey Team, who won the Champion Title at the 2023 New Jersey Ice Hockey Public A State Championship, during the Tuesday night meeting.

This is the team's fifth state title and this win marks back-to-back titles won in 2022 and 2023.

"Way to kick some ass and bring it home," said Committeeman James Baldassare Jr. "When you reach the highest level you carry that with you. Know that you can do anything in your life if you put your mind to it… This was not an easy feat, you deserve all the praise."

Deputy Mayor Jennifer Asay also congratulated the team.

"It is so difficult to balance academics and athletics, especially at Ridge. It's a tremendous accomplishment that you have achieved," said Asay. "We are so proud of what you accomplished."
