Treat Mom to a Mother's Day Horseback Ride

Lord Stirling Stable. No experience necessary

The Friends of Lord Stirling Stable will host the annual Mother’s Day Horseback Ride on Sunday, May 8, 2016 on the scenic trails of Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

Check-in time is 10:00 A.M. and the ride begins at 10:30 A.M..

Registration forms are available in the Stable office and on the Friends of Lord Stirling Stable website at www.flss.org. The fee for this event is $30 for Friends of Lord Stirling Stable members and $35 for all others. Please note that approved equestrian helmets and boots with a low heel are required for all riders and are available for use at the Stable. Payment may be made by cash or check.

This event, suitable for those with little or no riding experience, is open to all adult riders, their family and friends. Children must be at least 12 years old unless currently enrolled in class at Lord Stirling Stable. Riders must weigh less than 200 lbs.

Trail Guides will be happy to point out and attempt to identify the various plants, birds and animals that can be seen on the 18 miles of trails at Lord Stirling Stable.

While Mom rides, dads and children are invited to participate in a special 90-minute “Pony Pals Club” program. Children ages 2 – 7 will enjoy a pony-themed story, a craft activity, and a lead line pony ride. This program is offered for the special fee of $12 per parent/child pair; siblings in the 2-9 year age group may participate for an additional $6 each. Registration for this program is available online at www.somersetcountyparks.org and in the Stable office.
