WAMS MathCounts Team Wins State Championship Competition
Congrats to William Annin Middle School MathCounts Team!!

BASKING RIDGE,NJ- The William Annin Middle School (WAMS) MathCounts team won State Championships in the New Jersey State MathCounts Competition held at Rutgers University in Piscataway on Saturday, March 10th. The team members of four 8th graders Kevin Cong, Daniel Xia, Andrew Zhang and Eric Zhu, competed with the best math students from New Jersey and won the State Championship for the first time!
In the individual award competition, Kevin Cong finished 2nd, Daniel Xia 4th, and Andrew Zhang finished 8th place. Kevin Cong and Daniel Xia, together with two students from other schools will represent New Jersey in the Mathcounts National competition. Mrs. Tara Bowman, coach of the winning team will lead and coach team New Jersey.
MathCounts is regarded as the most prestigious competition of middle school mathematics in the U.S. The top four individuals from each state will be advancing to the national competition in May 13-14 in Washington D.C. The WAMS community is extremely proud of the students, their accomplishments and the success they brought to the school. Congratulations to the WAMS mathletes and their teacher/coaches!
