What’s makes Pingry’s Mega-V Camp “Mega?”

Meet Gerry Vanasse, the brand-new Mega-V (V is for Vanasse!) Camp Director, at the Pingry School in Basking Ridge.  Earlier this year, Pingry announced that Athletic Director Gerry Vanasse will be overseeing and directing Pingry’s newly named Mega-V Camp for the Big Blue Summer in 2014.

Camp begins June 30th and runs through August 8th.

Masterful leadership.  Gerry brings over 20 years of day camp and recreation leadership experience to his expanded role at Pingry.  His imaginative ability to provide creative and fun activities for children of all ages is unmatched!  Previously, Gerry was instrumental in founding and instilling a vibrant camp philosophy at Gill St. Bernard’s Mega V-Fun Camp in Somerset County where he served as Camp Director for over a decade.  In 2005, Gerry Vanasse was appointed Director of Athletics for The Pingry School where today he oversees one of the largest student athletics’ programs in New Jersey that includes 34 Varsity level teams in 19 different sports categories.  Vanasse and his staff coordinate over 1,200 athletic contests each school year.

Extraordinary Camp Experience for children ages 3 to 13.  From the moment the children arrive in the morning, the engaging and inventive games await them along with the core summer fundamentals, such as athletics, aquatics, songs, and special events, to fill their days.  This camp framework of fun, friendship, and activities that captures the imagination has made Vanasse’s camps extremely popular with children and parents alike for years.  Mega-V campers are taught how to utilize teamwork and strategy to achieve their goals, involving every camper in the process.

Games, Games, Games.  Action packed days at Mega-V are filled with such popular and kid-favorite original games as Mega-V Ball, Alien Invasion, Mission ImpossiBall, Capture the Universe, and Animal Rescue which keep everyone happily engaged.  Campers also participate in such camp classics as soccer, capture the flag, and many others.  New this year at camp is a dedicated game room complete with ping-pong, foosball, air hockey, and much more!!
