William Annin Middle School Plays In 2023 Softball League Championship

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Congrats to the William Annin Middle School(WAMS) Softball team who made it to compete in the 2023 Softball League Championship.

For WAMS, Head Coach John Fico and Assistant Coach Hayley Fico united this group of local sluggers who had never played together as a team prior to 2023 and lead them to a 9 and 3 record -- 127 Runs Scored to 59 Runs Allowed. A truly amazing statistical performance both offensively and defensively.

The coaching staff did an outstanding job in crafting a powerhouse core with many 7th graders poised to return next season to get one more win.

Rising 8th Graders include Ashlee Kerrick, Bella Vergel, Gabriella Price, Jaden Mendola, Kajsa Svensson, Kelly Ross, Madison Sauro and Sydney Perla.

Ridge High School will be lucky next season to be bringing all these incredibly talented girls into an already formidable Softball Program.

The WAMS Softball Team played a tough Warren team who came to avenge their earlier regular season loss to the Vikings - and did. A very talented Warren team takes the win and the 2023 Championship with an excellent pitching performance, solid defense and terrific hitting.

Crosstown friendships were abundant - many of the WAMS girls play on travel teams and club teams with these Warren girls. Our congratulations go out to all of them for winning their first league championship.

The Coaches and Players from Top to Bottom truly played together all season long and exemplified what it means to be a team.

Congratulations on a hard-fought and remarkable season go to our coaches and players and we thank them all for working so hard and for making us proud.
