2 Cars Get Stuck On Flooded Roads In Nutley: Police
Two people got stuck trying to drive their cars through flooded streets in Nutley during a recent storm, authorities said. Here's where.
NUTLEY, NJ — Two different people got stuck trying to drive their cars through flooded streets in Nutley during a recent storm, authorities said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, the incidents took place on Sept. 13. Weather forecasters had warned about heavy rain and strong storms throughout the state that day.
Nutley police released the following statement about each stranded vehicle:

- Centre/Bloomfield Avenue – “A motorist attempting to go through deep flood water with her 2013 Hyundai told police that she didn’t see the water and then the vehicle stalled. A tow company needed to respond to pull the car from the water.”
- Harrison/Parallel Street – “Police responded to area regarding another vehicle that had become disabled as a result of flooding water. A Nutley tow company responded and secured the 2021 Mercedes to the tow yard.”
Nutley isn’t the only municipality in the area to see flooding on local streets during storms. When bad weather is predicted, Newark public safety officials routinely warn drivers about flood-prone roadways in the city, which have stranded hundreds of cars over the years.
