ATM Argument Leads To Pepper Spray Assault In Nutley, Belleville Woman Arrested: Police
Nutley police arrested a Belleville motorist after she allegedly tried to pepper spray another driver during an argument at a local ATM.

Nutley, NJ – Nutley police arrested a Belleville motorist after she allegedly tried to pepper spray another driver during an argument at a local ATM last week, authorities stated.
According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to the Centre Street ATM on Feb. 8 after receiving a report of a possible carjacking. On arrival, officers found that instead of a carjacking, two drivers had been involved in an argument at the drive-up ATM line.
Police reported that the argument began when people waiting to use the ATM began to honk their horns at Joann Decristofaro, 49, of Belleville, who was allegedly “taking some time” at the machine.

Decristofaro allegedly got out of her car and began arguing with the person next in line, police said.
At that point, a verbal altercation ensued and Decristofaro allegedly pepper sprayed inside the person’s vehicle towards their face, police stated.

Police arrested Decristofaro and charged her with simple assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
