Belleville BOE Candidates Will Answer Student Questions At Forum
Belleville's board of education hopefuls will answer questions from their most important constituents: the district's students.
BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville’s board of education hopefuls will answer questions from their most important constituents – the district’s students – at a candidate forum on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
The student-run event will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Belleville High School auditorium. It’s open to the public, according to faculty advisor Gerard Ross.
Each of the seven candidates are expected to attend, Ross said.

All questions for the event are written by students in the Belleville High School Law Related Education Program and will be presented to the candidates in a “Q&A format.” The public doesn’t participate in the questioning.
This will be the fifth year the student-run event is taking place.

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Belleville voters will head to the polls and choose candidates to fill three open seats on the board of education. Each term lasts three years.
The candidates are:
- Gynise Gotto – Continued Progress
- Thomas Grolimond - Continued Progress
- Carlos Marzan - Continued Progress
- Gabrielle Bennett-Meany – A Better Belleville
- Luis Muniz – A Better Belleville
- Ralph Tunis – A Better Belleville
- Raymond Kuebler – For the Children
Three current members of the board have terms due to expire in 2020: Grolimond, Gotto and Liza Lopez.
