Belleville Man Among 16 Memorial Day Weekend Fatalities In NJ: Authorities

Belleville, NJ – A Belleville man was among more than a dozen fatalities that were reported in the Garden State over Memorial Day weekend, authorities say.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office stated that Luis Davila, 33, of Belleville, died in a multi-car crash in the township on Friday night.

Davila was pronounced dead around 9:40 p.m. at Clara Maass Medical Center, authorities said.

The other driver – a 19-year-old man - and his 21-year-old female passenger were hospitalized for their injuries but were in stable condition as of May 31, NJ.com reported.

No charges have been filed, prosecutors said.

Davila’s death was one of more than a dozen fatalities that were reported in New Jersey over Memorial Day weekend.
