Belleville Meeting About Parking Draws Vocal Crowd At Town Hall

BELLEVILLE, NJ — Belleville township officials and administrators hosted a public discussion about parking at Town Hall on Sept. 30.

No formal action was taken at the meeting, which was held to gather feedback from local residents. Several residents spoke at the well-attended meeting. Watch video footage here, or view it below.

Mayor Frank Vélez was among those weighing in after the meeting.

“The township council, our parking consultant, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to participate and make their voices heard,” Vélez said.

“For hours, we received valuable feedback from countless residents as we consider potential parking improvements, including residential permit parking and other solutions,” Vélez continued. “That input will help guide the next steps as we work toward meaningful, long-term improvements.”

“We know that a one-size-fits-all approach will not work,” the mayor added. “Every neighborhood has its own unique parking challenges, and any changes we make must reflect those differences.”
