Belleville, Nutley School Board Races: Updated Election Results

Here's who is leading the races for the Belleville and Nutley boards of education, according to unofficial results.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Voters in Belleville and Nutley headed to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 2 to cast ballots in the 2021 general election. And choosing members of their local board of education was among the tasks they faced.

In both towns, voters chose candidates for governor, the state Legislature and county sheriff, and make decisions on two state ballot questions. They also picked members of their local school boards.

BELLEVILLE BOARD OF EDUCATION (vote for two, three-year terms)

With 26 of 26 districts reported, Nicole Coviello-Daddis and Tracy Williams have apparently captured seats on the Belleville school board. Here are the unofficial results, which still need to be certified, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office:

  • Nicole Coviello-Daddis - 2,010 (22.32%)
  • Christine Lamparello - 1,295 (14.38%)
  • Tracy Williams - 1,928 (21.41%)
  • Lissa Missaggia - 1,624 (18.03%)
  • Nelson Barrera - 1,246 (13.84%)
  • Ruben A. Rodriguez - 903 (10.03%)

NUTLEY BOARD OF EDUCATION (vote for three, three-year terms)

With 20 of 20 districts reported, Joe Battaglia, Kenneth Reilly and Nicholas Scotti have apparently captured seats on the Nutley school board. Here are the unofficial results:

  • Kenneth J. Reilly - 3,317 (17.21%)
  • Nicholas Scotti - 3,239 (16.81%)
  • Jeffrey Polewka - 1,431 (7.43%)
  • Daniel Fraginals - 2,661 (13.81%)
  • Theresa Quirk - 2,147 (11.14%)
  • Joe Battaglia - 3,917 (20.33%)
  • David Kay - 2,558 (13.27%)
